Reseña: Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

País: Estados Unidos
Autor: Rainbow Rowell
Género: Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance,Fiction
Fecha de publicación: 26 Febrero 2013
Páginas: 328

Sinopsis:

Two misfits.
One extraordinary love.

Eleanor
... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

Fanart by Loquacious Literature

“The first time he'd held her hand, it felt so good that it crowded out all the bad things. It felt better than anything had ever hurt.”

Fanart by Simini Blocker

"Smarter than I ever was," her mom said. "And braver. I haven't been on my own since the eighth grade."

Reseña: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne

País: Reino Unido
Autor: J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne
Género: Fantasy
Fecha de publicación: 31 Julio 2016
Páginas: 330

Sinopsis:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

“And there is a giant whoosh of light. A smash of noise. And time stops. And then it turns over, thinks a bit, and begins spooling backwards, slow at first . . . And then it speeds up.”

“HARRY: “The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.”

(GINNY looks at him, surprised.)

Dumbledore.

GINNY: A strange thing to say to a child.

HARRY: Not when you believe that child will have to die to save the world.”

“If I had to choose a companion to be at the return of eternal darkness with, I'd choose you.”

Reseña: Landline by Rainbow Rowell

País: Estados Unidos
Autor: Rainbow Rowell
Género: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Fecha de publicación: 8 Julio 2014

Páginas: 310

Sinopsis:
Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble; it has been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems beside the point now.

Maybe that was always beside the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn't expect him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts...

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened?

 Reseña:

Fanart by Simini Blocker

“It's more like you meet someone, and you fall in love, and you hope that that person is the one—and then at some point, you have to put down your chips. You just have to make a commitment and hope that you're right.”

Fanart by Lauren Baldo

“Whether it's enough. How does anyone ever know whether love is enough? It's an idiotic question. Like, if you fall in love, if you're that lucky, who are you to even ask whether it's enough to make you happy?”
